IF A WOMAN KNOWS HER SELF-WORTH

Self-worth and self-esteem: Understanding the truth of God's word.- image

Self-worth and self-esteem: Understanding the truth of God’s word. – As women, it’s easy to fall into the trap of measuring our worth by the world’s standards. We compare ourselves to others, strive for perfection, and seek validation from external sources. But what if I told you that your accomplishments, appearance, or social status do not determine your worth? What if I told you that true self-worth comes from a deeper, more meaningful source? The person understands their worth when they have acknowledged their decision to receive the truth about who they are and their identity. However, I am not saying it’s automatic. But it requires deeper healing from insecurity, pride, envy, and childhood trauma. In this post, we’ll explore the importance of self-worth, how it relates to faith, and why fear should never be the driving force in our lives.

Self-Worth Matters

Firstly, let’s define self-worth. Self-worth is the belief in your value, regardless of external factors. It’s about knowing you are valuable and deserving of love and respect. When we base our self-worth on external measures, we leave ourselves vulnerable to comparison, criticism, and disappointment. However, cultivating a strong sense of self-worth can weather life’s ups and downs with grace and resilience. We can approach challenges and opportunities with confidence and trust in our abilities.

Self-Worth: God’s Word

Self-worth and self-esteem: Understanding the truth of God’s word. Self-worth and faith are intertwined. Christians believe that God created us in His image and loves us unconditionally. This means that our worth is inherent and cannot be taken away by anything we do or don’t do. When we understand this truth, we can relinquish the need for external validation and find peace in God’s grace. We don’t have to earn His love or approval – it’s already ours. This frees us up to pursue our passions, take risks, and live our lives to the fullest. This journey has to be engaged with a childlike approach, knowing you are loved by the creator of the universe, not only that you are loved, but God desires to have a relationship with you. He wanted to be a father who speaks and guides us daily. He desires to bring us on a journey of wholeness. When we truly know and know the truth that we are delivered, healed, protected, and provided, self-worth is second nature to practice.

Because of past mistakes or past hurts, you can’t seem to get one foot in front of the other, and when you do, you’re dragging.

Oh how I get you.

I know how it feels to stand in front of the mirror, not being able to put your foundation on because of the tears running down your face.

I know.

The scripture tells us – Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

When God says, do not remember things that are old or considered – He is encouraging us not to reflect on those painful experiences as well as even the good experiences we had.

I used to mediate the victor and failure and slowly learned to let go; those thoughts do not serve any longer. When we have low self-esteem, it’s hard to perceive a loving God has beautiful thoughts toward us. The journey starts here Self-worth and self-esteem: Understanding the truth of God’s word.

Self-Worth: Fear Vs. Love

Thirdly, fear should never be the driving force in our lives. I was once a victim of fear; fear simply focuses on the outcome you do not want to experience. When we meditate on what if this happens, our mind is bombarded by the unknown outcome, eventually creating scarcity that leads to fear, which slows us down from a productive life. Fear can manifest in many ways – fear of failure, rejection, and the unknown. But when we allow fear to dictate our choices, we limit ourselves and miss out on the abundant life God has planned for us. Fear can also lead us to compromise our values or beliefs to fit in or avoid conflict. However, when we embrace our worth and trust in God’s plan, we can face our fears with courage and faith. We can stand firm in our convictions and make choices that align with our deepest values.

Self-Worth and Self Esteem: Your Choice

Fourthly, self-worth is not a one-time achievement – it’s a lifelong journey. We will inevitably face self-doubt and insecurity, but we can lean into God’s truth instead of our fears. We can surround ourselves with positive influences, practice self-care, and seek opportunities aligning with our purpose and assignments. It’s important to remember that self-worth is not about being perfect or having it all figured out – it’s about embracing our humanity and trusting God’s grace.

Conclusion: In a world that often tells us we’re not enough, it’s crucial to cultivate a strong sense of self-worth rooted in faith. When we understand our inherent value as God’s children, we can let go of fear and embrace a life of purpose, meaning, and joy. Self-worth is not about being better than anyone else – it’s about being our best selves and using our unique gifts to serve others and glorify God. So take a moment today to remember that you are worthy, loved, and capable of great things. The world needs your light, so shine on, sister.
